When I Met Corrie ten Boom for a Bowl of Soup She Told Me…

I'll never forget the first time I met Corrie ten Boom. Over a cup of soup she shared her love for the Jewish people with me. I told her a little of my own family's story of suffering at the hands of people who claimed to be Christians and she said, "You can't love Jesus without loving the Jewish people."

You and I know the story of the Hiding Place—how the Ten Boom family risked so much to save the lives of 800 hundred Jews from the Holocaust…and the incredible price they paid for their faith.

But it's a story at risk of being forgotten. So many people today are shocked when I share the ten Boom's amazing story with them—they've simply never heard it before. And right now that story is needed more than ever before. The Jewish people are under attack. The ancient evil of anti-Semitism is rising like a flood.

With your help, the Jerusalem Prayer Team is going to fight this great evil with a story of great love—the story of Corrie ten Boom and her family—told in a new way to a new generation.

We are going to take Corrie's incredible story of love and sacrifice and share it with the world…especially Israel. We are now working on a virtual tour of Corrie ten Boom's home that will be available online so the house of Israel and the world will be able to see and hear the story of the Hiding Place…this is a prophetic first but I cannot do it without your support.

The ten Boom home was purchased and restored by Jerusalem Prayer Team members so this story would never be lost in 1988. It has been open to whosoever will at no charge ever since. Jews who were hidden there have been coming weeping to say thank you.

When I spoke with the Israeli Ambassador as Casper and Betsy were inducted into the Hall of the Righteous Among the Nations at Yad Vashem (the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem) a Jewish women wept and told me "I was a little girl my mother came to the house (the ten Boom house) with me and said to Casper, 'Would you take me and my child and hide us?' He said, 'I must ask God I will be right back.' When he came back he said, 'God said Yes. Come in. I said to my mother, 'Is God in the house?' She said, 'Maybe, let's see.' Well God was indeed in the house!"

This virtual tour will go room by room, showing the clock shop and the family home, and sharing their story with the whole house of Israel. Together we can take the ten Boom house to the house of Israel using technology.

Israel is the most high-tech country in the world—access to the Internet is nearly nationwide. So by putting this amazing true story on the Internet in both Russian and Hebrew, you can share an amazing witness of God's love with the Jewish people. I can't imagine a story that could touch the hearts of people in Israel more than this…or a time when it is more needed than right now. Will you be a sponsor and comfort the house of Israel today? "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people saith your God." (Isaiah 40:1)

This year is one filled with threats and dangers for Israel, and its people need our help more than ever. The Jerusalem Prayer Team is committed to speaking up for them, but we need to speak to them as well. The Corrie Project will do just that. This project will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars…but it will reach millions around the world with the love of God!

Just think, you can get the message of God's love to a billion Chinese…a billion Muslims….and even Persians in Iran…as well as the Jews in Israel and around the world.

I'm on my way to Israel to begin work on this project. I want to tell the company we have found to handle this prophetic project to begin their work immediately, but I can't say Yes unless you say Yes.

This prophetic project is so special to me because of my mother. A number of her family members died in the Holocaust death camps. I remember her saying, "Christians kill Jews. Christians hate Jews." She would not listen to Christians because her grandfather had been barricaded inside his Orthodox synagogue in Russia and burned alive by people who screamed "Christ killers!"

I understand the pain and the feeling of rejection that so many Jews feel. And based on my experience and family history, I know there is nothing that will touch a suffering Jewish soul more than the story of the ten Boom's and the Hiding Place.
